Lillian Martha Heinrich Obituary

Lillian Martha Heinrich left this world on October 12, 2025 to be in the arms of her Savior. She was a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Born on February 2, 1929, the youngest of ten children to Henry A. and Ernestine (Kainer) Wimmer, Lillian was raised in a farming family in Hermleigh, Texas where she learned love, faith, hard work, independence, competitiveness and the power of prayer. Lillian attended Hermleigh public schools, where she competed in basketball and volleyball, and then graduated from Draughon’s Business College in Lubbock.

On April 22, 1954, Lillian married Walter O. Heinrich of Slaton in a ceremony at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lubbock. They made their home in Slaton and were active in St Joseph Catholic Church, belonging to several organizations within the Church. Lillian became the bookkeeper for Walter’s farming business, a true partner contributing to his success. They welcomed four children and loved them endlessly.

Lillian and Walter were devoted Slaton Tiger and Tigerette fans, never missing a game where one of their children were involved. They were also avid Texas Tech Red Raider football and basketball fans. Lillian and Walter were passionate travelers and were excited to have visited 49 states and several locations abroad with their family and friends. Lillian will be remembered for her tenaciousness and wisdom, her generous and prayerful spirit, her quick wit and her love of a ruthless game of marbles or cards.

Lillian is survived by her children, Phyllis Bechner and husband Eric of Midland, Kelly Heinrich and wife Susan of Lubbock, Michelle Haney and husband Doug of Anthem, Arizona, daughter-in-law Misty Heinrich of Lubbock, and grandchildren Julie Heinrich, Cody Heinrich, Ashley Bosley and husband Chase, Janae Vaubel and husband Eric, Kelsi Grobe and husband Andrew, Colton Heinrich and wife Jessica, Alyssa Haney, and Trevor Haney and wife Mackenzie. Her much loved great grandchildren are Gianna Mikitish, Hudson Grobe, Graham Grobe, Logan Bosley and Scottie Vaubel. She is also survived by her brother-in-law E.L. Reissig, sister-in-law Sr. Cleo Heinrich, brother-in-law Royce Heinrich and wife Nancy, and many nieces and nephews.

Lillian is preceded in death by her beloved husband Walter and treasured son Russell Heinrich and all of her siblings.
