Lonnie Paul Donald Obituary

Lonnie Paul Donald, 74, of Wilson, passed away Sunday, February 4, 2024.


Viewing will be 11:00 am -6:00 pm Wednesday,  February 7, 2024, at Englunds Chapel, followed by a visitation at 6:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, February 8, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilson.  Interment will follow in Green Memorial Park in Wilson. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.


Lonnie Paul was born on November 16, 1949, in Abilene, to Lester and Janet Donald. He graduated from Abilene Cooper High School and later from Tarleton State University with his bachelor degree in animal science. He married Connie Gicklhorn on October 23, 1976 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Wilson. Lonnie was a farmer and part owner of Diamond D Irrigation and Ag.  Lonnie had many accomplishments including being a founding member of Lynn County Livestock Association Premium Sale Board,  Lynn County Livestock Association Director, Wilson ISD School Board member, Wilson Lions Club member, Wilson City Council member, Wilson Volunteer Fire Department Chief, St. Paul Lutheran Voters Assembly President, he was also a Little League coach and Lynn County 4-H adult leader.


He is preceded in death by his parents and his granddaughter, Danae Donald.


Lonnie is survived by his wife; his sons, Cody and his wife, Amanda of Tahoka and Casey and his wife, Nikki of Wilson and four grandchildren, Brook Tyson, Kenny Donald, Remington Donald and Cooper Donald.
