Louise Ann Jenkins Obituary

Our dear wife, mom, and grandma, Louise Ann Jenkins, 65, of Lubbock, TX, passed away on August 5th, 2025 with her beloved husband of 46 years at her side.

Louise was born May 12, 1960 in Springfield, OH, the daughter of Stanley John and Norma Jean Wloshinski.

Louise graduated from South High School in Springfield, two weeks after marrying David Jenkins on May 4, 1979. She was friends with his sisters Gail and Robyn and began dating David in high school. In April 1980, their son Duane was born in Springfield. Soon after, the young family moved to Lubbock to be closer to her sister. In June 1984, they welcomed daughter Samantha, and in January 1989 daughter Christine. This May they celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary!

Louise’s life work was as a homemaker, raising her children and being present at school and extracurricular activities, a tradition that continued with her grandchildren. Dinner around the table each night taught us the value of family time and gave us memories we will always cherish. Through her devoted care of her grandchildren, she enabled her children to pursue their careers. Her dogs were her “other” pride and joy, with German Shepherds being her favorite.

Louise was an ardent fan of Lady Raider Basketball and a season ticket holder. She found joy in tending to her roses and always had freshly cut flowers in the house. She ensured the family had adventurous summers, filled with swimming in the backyard pool to fun-filled family vacations to theme parks and zoos across the country. In more recent years, she enjoyed frequent trips to the lake. She was the luckiest person in Lubbock County in the 90s, winning numerous prizes from local radio stations, including an all-expense paid trip to Florida!

Remaining to cherish Louise’s memory are her husband David; children, son Duane and wife Carrie Jenkins of Van Buren, AR, daughter Samantha and husband Jeremiah Thomas of Slaton, TX, daughter Christine and husband Gregg Miller of Lubbock, TX; grandchildren, Caden, Evan, Chloe, Wyatt, Eliza, Carter, and Ruth. Also, brothers John and wife Elisabeth Wloshinski of Stafford, VA, David and wife Joann Filler of Springfield, OH, and sister Susan Goble of Brownwood, TX, along with numerous nieces and nephews, and her dogs Caesar and Hanna.

Preceding Louise in death are her parents, brother-in-law William Goble, niece Tina Goble and numerous treasured dogs.

At her request, there will not be an official funeral or service. In her honor, the family attended her eldest grandchild’s wedding this past weekend in Arkansas, which had been her end-of-life goal and source of hope this past year. The family will host a private family gathering near the holidays.

We would like to give special thanks to Dr. Gerald Endelman and staff at UMC Cancer Center, Mackenzie Price PA, and David Nutt for their guidance and compassion during the most difficult times.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the charity of your choice, plant a rosebush, walk your dog, listen to a Garth song, and by all means call your mom or take her out to dinner!
