Loyce L. Degan

Loyce L. Degan, age 89, passed away in Plano, TX on November 10, 2022.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 pm on Friday, November 18,  2022.  Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM Saturday, November 19, 2022 at Englunds Chapel with Laredo Shannon officiating.  Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Loyce was born in Lynn County, Texas and was a 1951 graduate of Slaton High School. 

Loyce married Russell Degan in 1951 in Clovis, NM and spent over 25 years working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Lubbock before retiring.  She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.  She loved to talk, laugh, cut up and socialize with her relatives and her many work and church friends.

Loyce was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, her parents, Homer and Addie Smith and her brother, Elza Smith.  Survivors include her son, Mark, and his wife, Leslie, two grandsons, Collin and Christopher and many friends and family.

We wish to thank both Arms of Hope Residential Care Home and Faith Presbyterian Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of Mom during her illness.
