Magdalena Helen Ybarra

Magdalena Helen Ybarra, 94, of Slaton, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021.

Viewing will be 10:00-4:00 pm Friday, March 5, 2021 at Englunds.  Graveside services will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Social distancing and mask are required at the funeral home and cemetery. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Helen was born September 10, 1926 in Waelder to Victoriano and Ventura Ybarra. She attended school in Waelder. She moved with her family to Slaton in 1943. Helen worked as a seamstress for many years for Malouf’s. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Slaton. She loved taking care of her dog, Bella, her cats and her birds.

She is preceded in death her parents; her brother, Tiodoro Ybarra and her sisters, Angelita Flores and Yolanda Ybarra.

Helen is survived by her sisters, Martha Ybarra of Slaton, Sally Ybarra of Slaton, Mary Vigil and her husband Homer of Slaton and Valentina Martinez of Lubbock; her brothers, Domingo Yabarra of Grand Island, Nebraska, Phillip Ybarra and his wife, Olga of Lubbock and Lee Ybarra of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews.

The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice of Lubbock.
