Manuela Hernandez Garza

Manuela Hernandez Garza, 84, of Hereford, formerly of Wilson, passed away on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

Public viewing will be from 11am-6 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2023, at Englunds followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00p.m. at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Wilson. Interment will follow at Green Memorial Park in Wilson. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Manuela was born on September 30, 1938, in Wilson to Abelino and Florencia Hernandez. In 1956, she married Apolonio Garza in Florence, AZ.   They returned to Wilson in 1981, where she resided until just a few years ago.  She loved to cook and loved music and dancing. But she especially loved her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, James and Manuel Garza; and her brother, Arnold Hernandez.

Manuela is survived by her daughters, Guadalupe Garza of Hereford, Enedina Munoz and her husband, Francisco of Hereford, Martha Ramirez and her husband, Joe of Lubbock, Maryann Moody of Wilson, and Christina Rivas and her husband, Ivan of Universal City; her sons, Richard Garza of Lubbock, Apolonio “Sonny” Garza and his wife, Sofia of Lubbock, David Garza of Wilson, Robert Garza of Wilson, Steven Garza and his wife, Yolanda of Lubbock, and Adam Garza and his wife, Katina of New Braunsfel; her sisters, Dora Gomez of Victoria, Susan Guzman of Wilson, Guadalupe Navarro of San Angelo, Connie Villareal of Wilson, Florence Thompson of Goliad, Juana Pena of New Home, and Delores Guzman of Wilson; her brother, Abelino Hernandez, Jr. of Florida; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
