Obituary
Maria Ysabel Macias, 83, of Slaton, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2023.
Viewing will be from 11-6 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at Englunds in Slaton followed by a visitation at 6-7:00p.m. at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Cemetery in Woodrow. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Maria was born on June 29, 1940, in Robstown to Serapio and Guadalupe Barrera. She married Adolfo Garcia in Robstown at a young age and were married for many years. Soon after they were married, they moved to Slaton and were blessed with 13 Children. She was a wonderful homemaker, Mother, Grandmother and great-grandmother. Maria was a very loving, kind, caring God-fearing person.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her children, Nora Vasquez, Linda Gonzales, Norman Chapa, and Rudy Garcia.
Maria is survived by her husband; her daughters, Diana Garcia of Abilene, Christine Garcia of Henrietta, Sandra Pena of Wilson, and Olivia Wood of New Braunfels; her sons, Adolph Garcia, Jr., Jerry Garcia of Lubbock, Randy Garcia of Woodrow, and Chris Garcia of Woodrow; 44 grandchildren: and several great-grandchildren.
