Maria Rita Garcia, 75, of Slaton, passed away Friday December 17, 2021.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at Englunds. Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.   

Rita was born January 20, 1946 in Slaton to Epimenio and Juanita Solis. She married Raymon L. Garcia on December 12, 1964.  Rita worked for Southwestern Bell for 25 years before going to work for Walker Sims, where she retired after 26 years in 2018. She was a huge Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes fan.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her parents; five sisters; and one brother. 

Rita is survived by her husband; her daughter, Elizabeth Garcia of Slaton; her sons, Raymond L. Garcia, Jr. of Slaton and Jacinto Garcia and wife, Ronda of Lubbock; her brother, Alfonso Solis and his wife, Mary Helen of Slaton; and her grandkids, Christian and Analysa Carmona, Trent, Jakson and Randi Garcia.
