Martin Villarreal Obituary

Martin Villarreal, 82, of Wilson, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2021.

Viewing will be 10:00 am -5:00 pm Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Englunds in Slaton. Graveside Services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, March 4, 2021 at Green Memorial Park in Wilson.  Social distancing and mask are required to attend. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Martin was born January 22, 1939 in Edinburg to Doroteo and Angelita Villarreal. He moved to Wilson in 1953 and he married Olivia Ramirez on September 19, 1965.  They worked as migrant workers in Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa and Indiana before settling in Wilson in 1979.  He then worked for Texas Pellet Mill in New Home for several years before going to work for Sorghum Partners in New Deal and retired in 2011.  He loved to BBQ and did so for the church in Wilson for many years.  He also loved the outdoors and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and seven sisters.

Martin is survived by his wife, Olivia of Wilson; his daughters, Cynthia Lerma and her husband, Isidro of Vienna, GA, SanJuanita Liza Pacheco of Wilson, and Rosa Maria Villarreal and Joey Bustamonte of Odessa; his sons, Robert Villarreal and his wife, Juneane of Tahoka, Martin Villarreal and Tonya Melton of Wilson, and Stephen Villarreal of Wilson; his sisters, Delia Oneta of Los Angeles, CA and Janie Tanner and her husband, Joe of Iowa; his brothers, Ben Villarreal and his wife, Tammy of Imperial, NE and Tony Villarreal and his wife, Connie of Wilson; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
