Mary Aurora Flores age 90, was called home to be with the Lord on June 10, 2025.

A viewing only will be held on Sunday, June 15, 2025 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and no other services will be conducted. Funeral arrangements managed by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton, Texas.

Mary was born on February 18, 1935 in Waelder, Tx to Aurelio and Juana Arguello. She married the love of her life Jesse Flores on December 31, 1954 in Seguin, Texas, and celebrated 62 years of wedded bliss until the loss of the love of her life in September 2016.

During her later years of  life, Mary attended Cosmetology training and became a very successful hairstylist for many years up until her retirement.

She was a committed and dedicated wife, loving mother, and a tenderhearted, sentimental grandmother. She especially enjoyed cooking and gardening. Her love for plants was a lifelong passion.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, Aurelio and Juana Arguello, and by her loving husband Jesse. Also her sister, Rachel Reyes, of Slaton,  and brothers, Frank, Felix, Tony, Abel, Max, and David Arguello. all of Slaton, Texas. 

Mary is survived by her sons, Jesse A. and Connie Flores of Los Lunas, NM, David Flores of Slaton, Joseph Flores of Slaton, Jeff Flores of Slaton  her daughter, Joanna Newsome and her husband, Ron of Amarillo; John Flores and his wife, MariVel of Lubbock, James Flores of Lubbock, and Jerome Flores of Honolulu, HI, and also including her sisters, Irene Cardenas and husband, Isaiah of Beaumont, and Nieves Arguello of Lawton, OK; her brother, Eugene and Olivia Arguello of Slaton; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
