Mary Solis, 86, of Slaton, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. The service is intended primarily for family and close friends.  Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. Due to social distancing and seating on every other pew, seating is limited. Mask are required in the church and funeral home.

Mary was born September 30, 1934 in Gonzales, Texas to Benito and Dolores Perales. She moved to Slaton in 1946.  She married Pedro Solis on November 11, 1950 at St. Joseph Catholic church in Slaton.  She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and was a Guadalupana. Her passions were her church and cooking. She worked at Mercy Hospital in Slaton for twelve years and St. Mary’s Hospital in Lubbock for eight years.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons, David, Tom, and Guadalupe; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Oralia Gonzales and her husband, Louis of Lubbock; her son, Ruben Solis and his wife Olivia of Buda; her sister Pauline Maldonado of Round Rock; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
