Maudine Polk, 78, of Slaton, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020.
Graveside Services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Mask are suggested. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Maudine was born October 24, 1941 in El Morro, New Mexico to Obie Jasper and Susan Maud Worthen. She graduated from Grants High School in Grants, New Mexico. Maudine married Kenneth Polk on November 23, 1965 in Little Rock, Arkansas and enjoyed 54 years of marriage.
While in Cibola county, she worked as a secretary for the Sheriff and Fire Department. She also served as a Deputy Sheriff and Volunteer Firefighter. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking and painting and loved spending time with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Sandra Dee Knutson; her sisters, Laura Mae Barnes, Elva Corene Gallagher; her brothers, Obie Worthen Jr., Clarence Worthen, Clint Worthen, Arnold Ray Worthen; and granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Knutson.
Maudine is survived by her daughter, Georgi Flach of Decatur, IL; her sons, Howard Polk and wife, Nikki Gomes of DeLand, FL, Robert Polk and wife, Tia Harris of Grants, NM, Ken Polk and wife, Rebecca of Herndon, VA; fifteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
