She loved working alongside her daddy in the Vet clinic and described him as her best friend and the best man she ever knew. She also was greatly impacted by the role her grandparents played in her life. Melissa was an avid rodeo competitor for most of her life and was a 5 Time world champion women’s team roper. Animals were her passion, especially dogs and horses. She was the owner and operator of her own kennel and grooming business called Cowdogs and Cuties. She was a wonderful cook and loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. Melissa was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Slaton.

She is preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; and her biological father, Travis Wilson.

She is survived by her sisters, Lauren Lee and her husband, Sang of League City Tx, and Kate Wood and her husband, Cameron of Dickinson Tx.; her nephews and nieces, Caden, Connor, Carter, Ella and Reese; her extended family, Josh Searsy and his children, Heath and Drue, Renee and Ronnie Brown, Larry and Pete Searsy; her close friends, Roger, Tina, Brad, Clay, Tiffany, Lisa, Jennifer, Gloria, Soccorro, Justin, Sarah, Wesley, Paul, and Jessie; and many others; and of course her rodeo family far and wide who are left to mourn her passing.
