Millie Ordas

Millie Ordas, 91, of Lubbock, passed away on November 8, 2023.

Viewing will be 1-6:00 pm Sunday, November 12, 2023, at Englunds, followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday, November 13, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Millie was born on May 7, 1932, in Coleman to Dan and Josefa Aguirre. She moved with her family to Slaton as a child. She married Jesus Ordas on June 16, 1979, at the courthouse in Slaton. She was the manager of La Famosa Dress Shop where she worked in both Lubbock and Slaton for more than 15 years. Millie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino in Hobbs and gardening. A few favorite memories of Millie will always be Sunday family dinners, holidays and of her watching the Dallas Cowboys.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Susan Quintero; her son, Paul Quintero; two sisters; and three brothers.

Millie is survived by her husband; her daughters, Adele Quintero and Robert Rodriquez of Lubbock, Marylou Azua and her husband, Jesus of Hurst, Carmen Quintero of Slaton, and Becki Riojas and her husband Pete of Slaton; her sons, Luis Quintero and his wife, Elvira of Shallowater, and Estevan Benitez of Lubbock; her sister, Eloisa Robles and her husband, Richard of Abilene; her brother, Dan Aguirre, Jr. of Slaton; 22 grandchildren;  36 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great grandchildren.
