Norma Irene Rushing Rinne died peacefully on November 27, 2021, after 98 years of life.
Visitation will be at 6:00-7:00 pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Englunds Chapel. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. At the families request, please wear a mask to all services. Arrangements by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Norma was born January 28, 1923 in Dillard, Oklahoma, to Claud David Rushing and Grace Lavada Lenderman Rushing. She had one older sister, Geraldine, and three younger siblings, Muriel, Vernon, and Annetta. Her family moved to Slaton in 1938. She married Albert A. (Meeks) Rinne July 8, 1939 and was lovingly know as “Sue” ever since. After living in Portales, New Mexico and Pleasant Valley California, they settled in Wilson, Texas where they farmed and raised three children. Norma will be remembered as a gracious host, a wonderful cook, an endearing spirit, and loving mother and grandma. She left her imprint on the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to have known her.
Norma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Coy; her grandson, Darrin Rinne; and her great grandson Michael.
Norma is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Marolyn Rinne of Slaton; her daughter-in-law, Carolyn of Slaton; her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and David Koslan of Plano; her grandchildren, Davia Heinrich, Kathie Gamble, Sherri Washburn, Chrisite Koslan, and Jena Abel; and her great grandchildren.
The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Slaton Meals of Wheels.
