Pedro M. Torres, III, 88, of Slaton, passed away on April 25, 2026.

Viewing will be from 11:00 am-6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Englunds Chapel, followed by a 6:00 pm Rosary Service. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Thursday, April 30, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slaton.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Pedro was born on April 29, 1937 in San Marcos to Pedro Torres, Jr. and Jacinta Martinez Torres.  After living in  various places, he and his family settled in Slaton when he was a teenager. He met Andrea Cruz and they were married on November 4, 1967, and celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage. Pedro worked at Supreme Feed Mill as a console operator and retired after 46 years. He was quiet and reserved with a gentle, dry sense of humor.  He loved reading the newspaper, working in the yard, and watching westerns. However, his greatest joy was raising his children and seeing them and his grandkids grow.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Heliodora Flores; and his brother Eulalio Torres.

Pedro is survived by his wife, Andrea; his daughters Yvonne Trevino and her husband, Leonard and Lauri Moreno and her husband, Gilbert all of Lubbock; his sons, David Torres and his wife, Jean and Eugene Torres all of Slaton; his sisters Paula Arrellano, Adelina Arredondo, Lupe Moreno and Josephina Fernandez all of Slaton; his 7 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
