Peggy Jean (Jenkins)Walter, born March 25, 1943, in Brownfield, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of James C. Walter for 60 years.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 28th, from 6 to 7 PM at Englunds Chapel in Slaton, Texas. The funeral service will take place Saturday at 10:30 AM at Lubbock Canyon Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Family was at the center of Peggy's life. She created a warm and welcoming home where countless memories were made, from lively gatherings to quiet moments spent playing dominos. She enjoyed playing the organ and cherished singing and music. Her warmth and laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Annie Jenkins. She is survived by her three children: Cindy Rauser husband Gary, Mike Walter, and Teresa Galli and husband Carlo. Peggy was a proud grandmother to six grandchildren—Cullen, Jonathan, Devin Rauser, Cassidy, Kelsey, and Bryce Galli—and cherished her three great-grandchildren.
