Rafael Diaz

Rafael Diaz 79, of Slaton, Tx, went to be with the Lord on December 21,2021 in Lubbock,TX.

Visitation will be at 6:00-7:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2021 at Englunds in Slaton. Funeral Services will at 10:30 am Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at World Harvest Christian Center, South 115th and Indiana Street, in Lubbock. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service in Slaton. 

Rafael was born to Martin Diaz and Carolina Guiterrez on October 9,1942 in Slaton Tx. He attended Slaton High School, graduated, and shortly after enlisted in the US Navy, where he was stationed in Virginia on the USS Randolph.Ralph. He married the love of his life Alice and had one child Martin Jose Diaz. He also loved and adored Alice's children, Stella, Ofelia and son Steve. He worked for Pyco Industries in Lubbock as a Supply Purchasing Agent.and retired after 33 years of dedicated service. Rafael and Alice were long time members of World Harvest Christian Center in Lubbock until Alice passed in 2017. Ralph remained a faithful member and servant and made sure to attended every sunday service, and if he couldnt make it or was running late, he would call Sister Rita to save his seat.

Rafael is proceeded in death by his Wife Alice, Father Martin, Mother Caroline, and brothers Marshall, Bart and Lolo.

He is survived by his Brother Tomas Diaz wife Martha of Roundrock,Tx, Sons Martin Diaz wife Diane of Lubbock, Tx,  Steve Mendoza of Golson,Tx, Daughters Stella Martinez and Husband Dan of Hewitt,Tx, Ofelia Tovar and Husband Ricky of Waco, Tx,  Sister -in-law Margaret Diaz (late husband Lolo) of Slaton Tx, He also has 5 nieces,5 nephews and 8 grandchildren.Cecelia,Valerie,Sulie,Alyana,Angel,Timothy,Tyler ,Myles, and fur granddog violet.
