Rafaela Pastrana Sanchez, 81, of Slaton, passed away Friday, December 9, 2022.

Viewing will be 11:00 am to 6:00 pm Wednesday, December 14, 2022 followed by a visitation from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm at Englunds. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton. 

Rafaela was born January 27, 1941 in Gurabo, Puerto Rico to Bernabe Pastrana and Benedicta Sanchez. While living in New York, NY, she married Pedro Ferreira in 1960 and they celebrated 57 years of marriage before he passed on November 5, 2017.  In 2019, she moved to Slaton to live with Roxanna, but lived half of the year with Anabelle in Arizona. Rafaela was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Walter Ferreira Pastrana and her brothers, Edgardo and Bernabe Pastrana.

Rafaela is survived by her daughters, Roxanna Thompson and her husband, Wesley of Slaton and Anabelle Mortensen and her husband, Neal of Queen Creek, AZ; her sons, Pedro Rafael Ferreira of NC and William Ferreira of Puerto Rico; her sister, Brenda Pastrana of AZ; eleven grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
