Ray Pequeno Sr, 87, of Slaton, passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2022. 


Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Englunds.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Monday, February 21, 2022 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service.


Ray was born April 29, 1934 in Taylor to Simon and Josie Pequeno. He married Rosa Guzman in 1955 and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. He worked for Farmers Coop Gin for 35 years. He loved doing yard work and was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers.


He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ray Pequeno Jr. and his grandson, Daniel Pequeno.


Ray is survived by his wife; his daughters, Lisa Gallardo and her husband, Ramon of Slaton and Delma Pequeno of Slaton; his sisters, Lola Lobo of Phoenix,  Josie Baca of Slaton, Mary Garcia of Waco, Naomi Gallegos and her husband, Eladio of Abilene, Sandy Cox of Abilene, and Reymunda of Utah; his brothers, Simon Pequeno Jr. of Big Springs and Pedro Pequeno of Abilene;  eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
