Raymon Martinez Obituary

Raymon Martinez, 47, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, February 23, 2021.

Viewing will be 10:00-5:00 pm Monday, March 1 at Englunds.  Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Social distancing and mask are required at the funeral home and cemetery. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

He was a graduate from Idalou High School in 1993.  He was a longtime employee at Gary’s Service Center.  Raymon’s talents were many. He was an extremely accomplished mechanic, a talented welder who loved creating new projects around the house, and he loved working on cars.  He took a lot of pride in creating his small business, Ray’s Automotive.  He was a beloved son, brother, father, grandfather and friend who could light up a room with his laughter and smile.  He enjoyed time at family gatherings and cookouts during each summer. 

He is preceded in death by his father John Martinez.  

He is survived by his wife Monica Silvas Martinez; son Anthony Ray Martinez; daughter Alexa Monique Martinez; 2 granddaughters Carly Jade Martinez, Faith Angel Martinez; 2 grandsons Amari Mason Martinez, Aydin Malkaia Lara; Mother Elida Martinez; brother Oscar Martinez and his wife Lorraine Martinez; brother David Martinez and his wife Tina Martinez; Sister Betty Lokey and Husband Travis Lokey; brother Freddy Martinez and his wife Amy Martinez; brother Eddy Martinez and his wife Rebecca Martinez along with many nieces and nephews.
