Richard Dwayne Milbern, 83, of Slaton, passed away on April 18, 2026.

Viewing will be at 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, followed by a visitation, 6:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Richard was born on October 30, 1942 in Dumas to James and Maude Milbern. He was raised in El Paso, moving there as a young boy, with his family. He met Frances Louise McCormick, and they were married in Las Cruces on September 3, 1970.  He worked in construction for many years before going to work as a truck driver for Mayflower Moving Company.  He enjoyed watching wrestling, football and westerns and also enjoyed fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters.

Richard is survived by his wife, Louise Milbern of Slaton; his daughter, Tammy Cook and her husband, Joe of Slaton; his son, Charles Milbern and his wife, Lori of Slaton; his sister, Judy Hinds of Tularosa, NM; his grandchildren, Samantha Martel, Zach Milbern, Emilee Cook, Noah Milbern, Brandi Cook, and Joe Cook, Jr.; and eleven great-grandchildren.
