Robert Joe McGee, 63, of Lubbock, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

A Family Led Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Lubbock First Church of the Nazarene, 6110 Chicago.

Robert was born on December 29, 1961 in Hale Center to Carl Patrick and Virgie McGee.  He graduated from Cooper High School and attended South Plains College. He and Shelli were set up by each other’s grandparents in October of 1990 and were married in August of 1991.

He worked for several years in the fast-food industry, which he enjoyed doing, before working as a correctional officer. What he and Shelli were known for was spreading joy as Santa and Mrs. Clause, which they did for many years. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his kids and his grandkids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his nephew, Nathan Hamilton.

Robert is survived by his wife, Shelli; his daughter, Amber McGee and her husband, Jimmy Ho of Kyle;  his son, Zach McGee and his wife, Meagan of Lubbock; his sister, Debbie Ray and her husband, David of Lubbock; his brother, Steve McGee of Lubbock; his grandchildren Braxton and Oaklynn McGee; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
