Rose Custer Eakin

Rose Eakin of Slaton, TX went home to God April 10, 2022.

Viewing will be 11-5 pm Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at Englunds.  A Graveside Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Rose was born August 8, 1939 in Floydada to Boone and Ruby Custer and grew alongside her brother Butch.  Rose married Ed Eakin and went on to have four children, 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Rose was a loving and devoted friend to many.  She was an avid reader and never met a cookbook that didn't catch her eye.  She loved quilting and the beauty of fabrics.  She greatly enjoyed seeing the cranes or as she called them, Big Birds out on the pond. She loved to share her cooking and crafts. She was an animal lover and enjoyed sharing her meals and snacks with her grand dog Lika. She was a strong, kind woman who will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Trudy Kitten; her son, Eddie Eakin; her brother, Butch Custer; her special friend, Steve Dorn; and her beloved dog, Lucy

Rose is survived by her daughter, Sherri Bates and her husband, John of Casper, Wyoming; her son, Rob Eakin and his wife, Judie of Slaton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
