Roy Lee Heinrich, 85, of Slaton, passed away Monday, December 13, 2021.
A visitation will be 5:00-6:00 pm Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Englunds Chapel followed by a rosary service at 6:00 pm. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Friday, December 17, 2021 at Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Roy Lee was born May 27, 1936 in Slaton to Victor and Milada Heinrich. He graduated from Lubbock Cooper High School and was drafted into the U. S. Army. He obtained the rank of Sergeant and served as a medic. He returned to Slaton and married Therese Bacak in 1959. He was a farmer and a rancher all his life and loved working with his cattle and horses. He was an independent seed dealer for DeKalb and Frontier Seed for over 37 years. In addition, he was the announcer for the local stock shows for Lubbock Cooper for over 20 years. He had previously served with Knights of Columbus as a 3rd Degree Knight at St. Joseph in Slaton and was currently a member of Christ the King Cathedral in Lubbock. Roy Lee was a huge fan and supporter of Texas Tech and Lubbock Christian University athletics and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Dean Heinrich; and his grandsons, Caleb and Colton Heinrich and Landon Ehlers.
Roy Lee is survived by his daughter, Trina Ehlers and her husband, Gordon of Slaton; his sons, Burt Heinrich and his wife, Shelley of Slaton, Clif Heinrich and his wife, Kelly of Lubbock and Eric and his wife, Margaret of Slaton; his sister, LaNelle Heinrich of Slaton; his brother, Eugene Heinrich of Slaton; 12 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
