Santos Gatica, Sr.

Santos Gatica Sr, 68, of Slaton, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Englunds.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Santos was born February 15, 1953 in Slaton to Alfonso Sr. and Maria Gatica. He was a lifelong resident of Slaton. Santos married Mary Herrera in Slaton. Santos enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was a Green Bay Packer fan.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; his son, Rene Gatica; his sisters, Isabel Gomez and Lupe Puentes; and his brother, Apolinar Gatica.

Santos is survived by his daughter, Martha Gatica and her husband, Michael Mireles of Slaton; his sons, David Gatica of Slaton and Santos Gatica, Jr and his wife, Melessa of Lubbock; his sisters, Amelia Aguirre and her husband, Frank of Slaton and Josephine Martinez and her husband, Luis of Slaton; his brothers, Alfonso Gatica II and his wife, Francis of Slaton, Alejandro Gatica and his wife Oralia of Slaton, and Benito Gatica of Slaton; ten grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him. He will be missed greatly.
