Servando Benavides, 78, of Wilson, passed away Saturday, January 15 2022.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at Englunds.  Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am, Wednesday January 19, 2022 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Wilson. Interment will follow at Green Memorial Park in Wilson. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Servando was born August 2, 1943 in Robstown to Jose and Carolina Benavides.  He graduated from Wilson High School in 1963. He married Josephine Castro January 30, 1965 and they celebrated 57 years together. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad and later opened New Home Oil Company in 1967. He retired July 31, 2001. He enjoyed gardening and working in his greenhouse. He was a servant to others.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Amalia Verdin and Amelia Cisneros and his brother, P.Z. Benavides.

Servando is survived by his wife, his daughters, Pamela Michelle Riojas and her husband, Timmy of Lubbock and Patricia Ann Castro and her husband, Alex of Lubbock; his sister Julia Castro and her husband, Issac of New Home; his grandchildren, Steffan Jordon Perez, Skylar Joe Perez, Timothy Cole Riojas, Brooklyn Sky Castro and Mia Chanel Castro and his great-grandchild, Aylei Perez.
