Steve Colleps

Steve Colleps, 87, of Slaton, passed away Monday, November 16, 2020.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, November, 19 2020 at Hearts Together Church of Christ in Slaton.  Burial will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton.  Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service. Masks are required at the church and the funeral home. Services will be live streamed on Englunds Funeral Service Facebook page. 

Steve was born on March 28, 1933 in Lake Dallas to Leslie and Erin Colleps. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1951. Steve married Myra Klattenhoff on September 25, 1954 in Posey. He proudly served with the US Army in the Korean War. When he returned, he went to work for the US Postal Service retiring after 32 years. He enjoyed fishing. 

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and son in law, Jack Woods. 

Steve is survived by his son, Walter and his wife, Karen of Nacogdoches, his daughters, D’Anne Bishop and her husband Tony of Wilson and Darla Woods of Argyle; his sisters Julia Tarpley and her husband Bill of Austin and Leslie Guy Woelfel and her husband B.W. of Amarillo; and five grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Lubbock Children’s Home.
