Obituary
Susan Kay Mahurin, 74, of Slaton, passed away Saturday, June 24, 2023.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 am Thursday, June 29, 2023 at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Susan was born on September 24, 1948 in Coleman to Ted and Katy Wristen. She married Jim Mahurin on September 20, 1965 in Lubbock. Susan retired after more than 40 years from Caprock Santa Fe Credit Union where she was Vice President of lending. She loved quilting and helped organize the Cotton Pickin’ Quilt Guild. She also loved to cook and doated on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Joan Roye.
Susan is survived by her husband. Jim; her daughters, Penny Walton and her husband, Mike, and Kasey Mahurin, all of Slaton; her grandchildren, Tyler Walton and his wife, Tiana, Tanner Walton and his wife Taryn, and Callen Mahurin; and her great-grandchildren, Torben, Teller, Teagh’Ann and Letty Walton.
