Tony Martinez

Antonio “Tony” Martinez, 53, of Slaton, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021. 

Viewing will be 10:00-6:00 pm Monday, May 3, 2021 at Englunds.  Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at Bible Baptist Church in Slaton.  Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery. Masks are required at the funeral home and church. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Tony was born September 29, 1967 in Chicago, IL to Juan and Mary Helen Martinez. He graduated from Slaton High School in 1986. Tony married Rita Salazar and they were blessed with a daughter, Jessica Martinez.  Later he was married to Christel Cervantes and they were blessed with a son and a daughter, Alexis Martinez and Antonio Martinez, Jr. Tony owned his own body shop and customized lowrider cars. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Bears and loved fishing.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jesse Gallegos.

Tony is survived by his daughters, Jessica Martinez of Slaton and Alexis Martinez of Hale Center; his son, Antonio Martinez Jr. of Hale Center; his sister, Rachel Martinez of Slaton; his brothers, Adam Martinez, Encarnacio “Nunie” Martel and his wife, Samantha, and Frankie Gallegos and his wife, BeBe all of Slaton, and his step-dad, Gonzalo Gallegos of Slaton.
