Tracy Starkey, 48, of Lubbock, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021.
Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Thursday, August 26, 2021 at Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock. Memorial services will be 11:00 am Thursday August 26, 2021 at Southcrest Baptist Church. There is no public viewing. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Tracy was born September 28, 1972 in Plainview to James and Nez Starkey. He graduated from Slaton High School in 1991 and from West Texas A & M University on a tennis scholarship in 1995. Tracy married Jodi Bednarz on September 26, 1999 in Las Vegas. He was a Farmers Insurance agent from 1995-2016 and then became an independent agent. He loved coaching baseball for Lubbock Baseball Academy and New Home Little League, taking them to the State Championship just a month ago. Tracy also loved hearing his son, Ryne sing with the Caldwell Kids.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Tracy is survived by his wife, Jodi; his sons, Ryne and Ryder of Lubbock; his brother, Steve and his wife, Jacqueline of Wilson; his mother, Nez Starkey of Slaton; niece, Averi and nephew, Kash; his mother-in-law, Sandra Bednarz; and sisters-in-law, Tammy King of Pflugerville, Teri Bland and brother-in-law Eddie Bland of Snyder, Toni Rackley of Lubbock, and Alisha Bednarz of Austin.
The family suggest memorials to future scholarship funds.
