Troy Donn Melugin, 71, of Wilson, passed away on Monday, May 5, 2025.

Memorial Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Englunds Chapel. Visitation will follow from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at the Kessel Building in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Troy was born on August 14, 1953, in Slaton, Texas, to Ted and Polly Melugin. He graduated from Wilson High School and later attended South Plains College. Troy spent many years working in the beverage distribution industry before becoming a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service. He held leadership roles throughout his career and proudly served as a union steward during his time at the post office. Outside of work, Troy enjoyed fishing, rock music, watching sports, and riding his Harley. He was well known for his quick wit and sense of humor. Above all, he loved his family deeply and was affectionately known as “Grand-Pop” to his grandkids. He brought joy and laughter to every situation and will be remembered for his gentle spirit, wise words, practical jokes, and genuine compassion.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Troy is survived by his daughter, Natasha McAdoo and her husband, Jack of Friendswood; his son, Trey Melugin of Lubbock; his sister, Lynda Horton and her husband, Jackie of Conway, AR; his brother, Terry Melugin and his wife, Marilyn of Slaton; and his grandchildren, Bella Grace McAdoo, Jax McAdoo, and Carter McAdoo.
