Vernon Ehlo, 89, of Lubbock, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Viewing will be 11:00am-6:00pm Thursday, May 12, 2022 and visitation will follow 6:00pm-7:00pm Thursday, May 12, 2022 at Englunds. Funeral Services will be 2:00pm Friday, May 13, 2022 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Posey. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service.
Vernon was born August 19, 1932 in Slaton to William and Florence Ehlo. He graduated from Cooper High School and later joined the U. S. Navy, serving 2 years stateside. He met the love of his life, Lahoma Joyce, while working at Modern Chevrolet and they were married in 1952. After being discharged from the Navy, he went to work as a sheet metal mechanic at Reese Air Force Base and retired after 30 years in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was instrumental in establishing a historical marker for the church. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Margie Lobstein and Dorothy Rodgers; his brothers, Bill and Alton Ehlo; his son-in-law, Pat Farmer; and his grandson, John Jordan.
Vernon is survived by his wife; his daughters, Deborah Farmer of Lubbock, Sandra Ehler and her husband, Kenneth of Lubbock, and Nancy Mattox and her husband, John of Austin; his son, Mark Ehlo and his wife, Katy of Ardmore, OK; five grandchildren, Tara Lawson, Whitney Ehlo, Kim Tate, Chase Ehlo and Tom Jordan; five great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews.
