Victoria Alvarado

Victoria M. Alvarado, 78, of Slaton, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023.

Viewing will be from 11-5 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Englunds in Slaton followed by a Rosary Service at 6 p.m. at Englunds in Slaton. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Slaton. Interment will follow at Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are under the direction of Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Victoria was born on March 6, 1945, in Lubbock County to Mateo and Angelita Martinez. She attended school in Slaton. She married Martin L. Alvarado Sr. on September 15, 1961, in Slaton, celebrating more than 61 years of marriage. Victoria was a hairdresser and a seamstress.  She loved to cook, and her passion was taking care of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Rosemary Alvarado; three brothers; and one sister.

Victoria is survived by her husband, Martin; her daughters, Janie Regalado and her husband, Freddie and Eva Ramirez and her husband, Ruben, all of Lubbock; her sons, Martin Alvarado, Jr. and his wife, Florinda, of Slaton, Samuel Alvarado, of Denver, CO., and Arnulfo “Ray” Alvarado and Billie Renfro, of Slaton; her sisters, Francis Jimenez and her husband, Albert, of Lubbock, Maria Olivarez of Lubbock, Angelita Garcia of Big Spring and Esther Baeza, of Lubbock; her brothers, Pedro, Domingo, Frank and Gilbert Martinez, all of Lubbock; 19 grandchildren: and 25 great-grandchildren.
