Walter Menzer, 81, of Wilson, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2022.
Viewing will be 11:00 am- 6:00 pm Thursday, October 27, 2022 with a visitation following from 6:00-7:00 pm at Englunds. Funeral Services will be 10:30 am Friday, October 28, 2022 at Hearts Together Church of Christ. Interment will be in Green Memorial Park in Wilson. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.
Walter was born August 4, 1941 in Wilson to Karl and Adela Menzer. He was a lifelong resident of Wilson where he farmed cotton until he retired after 42 years. Walter married Tracy Lynn Wristen in Lamesa on January 25, 1964 and they celebrated over 55 years of marriage. He was a founding member of the South Plains Antique Tractor Association and served on the board of the Wilson Co-op Gin for a short period of time. His hobby was remodeling tractors and he loved all things agriculture and tractor related. Walter was a member of Hearts Together Church of Christ in Slaton.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.
Walter is survived by his daughter, Sue Doshier of Slaton; his brothers, Weldon Menzer of Wilson and Wesley Menzer of Eagle Pass, Alaska; two sisters, Darlene Toles of Weatherford, and Delphine Wied of Friona; two grandchildren, Janeé Doshier and Michael Doshier; and four great-grandchildren, Vivian, AriAnna, Faith and Ava.
