Wanda Faye “Jewel” Rackler, of Slaton, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024.

Viewing will be 11:00 am -6:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Englunds, followed by a visitation at 6:00 pm. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday, January 12, 2024, at Englunds Chapel in Slaton. Interment will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Slaton. Arrangements are by Englunds Funeral Service of Slaton.

Wanda was born on May 1, 1939, in Slaton to J. D. and Zeller Edwards. She attended school in Slaton. She married Johnny Rackler, and they celebrated 68 years of marriage. In 1970, she started her career in the medical field as a CNA at Slaton Care Center.  She finished her career as an administrative director at Golden Age Nursing Home, retiring after 48 years. She loved camping and going to family reunions and gatherings in Oklahoma and playing cards. Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and she was known to most people as Mama or Granny.        

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Belinda Seymour; her sisters, Carmelita Daniels, Pat Nelson, and Romaine North; and her great-granddaughter, Kynlee Lawrence.  

Wanda is survived by her daughter, Debbie Matthews and her husband, Tracy of Slaton; her sons, Jimmy Rackler and his wife, Julie of Greenville and Ronnie Rackler and his wife, Shannon of Slaton; her son-in-law, Carl Seymour of Slaton; her brother, Jackie Edwards and his wife, Angela of McKinney; her grandchildren, Nikki Matthews, Chase Ricks, Mindy Short, Maegan Lawrence, Wesley Rackler,  Todd Rackler, Lance Seymour, Charlene Dickison, Chance and Christopher Matthews, JJ Lepard, and  Chelsea Alvarado; and 27 great-grandchildren.
